FAQs

Questions, answered.

If your question isn't here, send us an enquiry — a clinician will get back to you.

The consultation

Will I actually speak to a clinician?

Yes. Every enquiry is read personally by Ivnit or Ersa, and every initial consultation is a live video call with one of them — not a message thread or an automated review.

What happens in an initial consultation?

Your clinician reviews the questionnaire and photos you've shared, talks through your history and previous treatments on video, examines your skin over video where possible, and agrees a treatment plan with you. You'll get that plan in writing.

Do I need a diagnosis before I get in touch?

Not necessarily. If you already have one, that's helpful. For a number of common conditions we can also assess and treat you directly — and if we can't, we'll tell you.

Is this a same-day service?

No. We reply to enquiries personally, usually within 48 hours. If you need urgent or same-day care, contact your GP, NHS 111, urgent care or A&E.

Prescriptions & medication

Can you prescribe?

Where it's clinically appropriate, yes — always after a proper consultation, never before one. Our clinicians are Independent Prescribers and can consider a wide range of evidence-based dermatology treatments.

Can you guarantee I'll get a particular treatment?

No. Any recommendation depends on your diagnosis, history, previous treatments, current medicines, monitoring needs and individual circumstances. Prescribing is always an individual clinical decision.

Do some treatments need blood tests or monitoring?

Some do. Where a treatment needs baseline or ongoing tests, we'll explain what's required and won't start until the necessary results are available.

Your prescription

How do I get my medication?

If prescription treatment is recommended, we issue a private prescription after your consultation. You choose which pharmacy dispenses it — we can send it to you directly, or electronically to a pharmacy you nominate. We're a prescribing service, not a pharmacy, and we don't have a partner pharmacy.

How much does medication cost?

Medication and any delivery are arranged and charged by the pharmacy you choose, separately from your consultation fee. The pharmacy tells you the cost before dispensing.

Safety

Is online prescribing safe?

It can be, with the right safeguards. That's why every initial consultation combines a questionnaire, photos and a live video call, why a clinician reviews your enquiry before anything is booked, and why we may ask to contact your GP where that's important for safe prescribing.

What counts as an emergency?

Sudden swelling of the tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, or symptoms of anaphylaxis are a medical emergency — call 999. A rapidly spreading rash with fever or feeling very unwell needs urgent in-person care.

Conditions

Which conditions do you treat?

The ones we see most often are listed on our Conditions page — acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, HS, hair loss, pigmentation, vitiligo, urticaria, scalp conditions and hyperhidrosis. If yours isn't listed, get in touch and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.

Are you a good fit for complex or long-standing conditions?

Often, yes — that's much of what we do. If your treatment isn't working, keeps failing, or you've been given several things and aren't sure how to use them, that's exactly the kind of situation a specialist dermatology pharmacist is well placed to help with.

Payments

Do I pay to make an enquiry?

No. Enquiries are free and there's no obligation to proceed. You'd only pay once a consultation is booked.

How do I pay?

Once you've agreed to go ahead, your clinician arranges your appointment with you and sends you a secure payment link. There's no payment on this website.

What does the consultation fee cover?

The clinician's time, your assessment and your written plan. It doesn't include the cost of any medication or tests — those are paid separately. See Pricing.

Follow-up

Is follow-up included?

Your initial consultation includes a follow-up plan. Follow-up consultations themselves are booked separately, at a reduced rate for existing patients.

What if my treatment isn't working?

That's what follow-up is for. We'll review how your skin has responded, adjust the approach, and talk through the next options.

Privacy

What happens to the information I send?

It's used to respond to your enquiry and, if you proceed, to provide your care. Health information is treated as special category data under UK GDPR and handled with additional safeguards. Full detail will be in our privacy notice.

Will you contact my GP?

Sometimes safe prescribing means letting your GP or existing specialist know. We'll always discuss this with you.

When we can't help

What can't you assess online?

New or changing moles, suspicious or bleeding lesions, undiagnosed rashes that need examination or investigation, and dermatological emergencies. These need in-person care — see When we can't help.

What if you decline my enquiry?

We'll explain why and point you toward the service that can help — your GP, an NHS dermatology service, urgent care or another specialist.
